Mamata Banerjee On New Parliament Inauguration: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee taunted PM Modi over the inauguration of the new Parliament. TMC Chief shared two photos on Twitter on Monday (May 29). In which one photo has the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru with his cabinet, on which it is written ‘after independence’ and the second photo is of the inauguration of the new building of Parliament. In this, PM Modi is standing with Adhyanam (priests) and Union ministers. ‘And now’ is written on this photo. 

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the new building of Parliament on Sunday (May 28). On this occasion Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, S. Jaishankar and Jitendra Singh, Chief Ministers of several states and Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda were present. Many opposition parties including Congress, TMC boycotted the ceremony. These parties demanded that the new building should be inaugurated by the President instead of the PM."Draupadi Murmu" href =" data-type="interlinkingkeywords">Draupadi Murmu should do. 

TMC had said that on behalf of PM Modi New Parliament House and the installation of the historic scepter Sengol in the Lok Sabha chamber shows that the Prime Minister has a tendency to be in full limelight during such an important occasion. Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member and national spokesperson Sukhendu Shekhar Roy had said that conducting some religious rituals at the inauguration of Parliament House is also against the Preamble of the Indian Constitution which describes it as a secular, socialist and democratic republic.&nbsp ;
